Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Caregivers Malaysia (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects information, consistent with the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010.
Information we collect
- Caregiver account & profile data — email, password (hashed, never visible to us), and everything you add to your profile: name, bio, rates, availability, location, qualifications, work history, and photo.
- ID document — uploaded as one of the required fields for publishing a complete profile. Stored privately and never shown publicly. It is not manually reviewed and does not confirm your identity — see our Disclaimer for what “verified” means on this site.
- Contact messages — when a family or care centre messages you (or messages us generally), we collect their name, email and message.
- Technical data — our hosting and database providers generate standard technical logs as part of running the service. We do not run separate analytics or tracking.
How we use information
- To operate the directory — showing published, verified profiles to families and care centres.
- To automatically confirm a profile is complete (including an ID upload) before publishing it.
- To deliver messages from families and care centres to the relevant caregiver.
We do not sell personal data.
Who can see what
A published, verified profile’s public details (name, bio, rates, availability, location, qualifications, work history, photo) are visible to anyone browsing the directory. Your email, password and ID document are never shown publicly.
International data transfer
Our hosting provider (Vercel) and database provider (Supabase) may store and process data on servers located outside Malaysia, under their own security and confidentiality safeguards.
Your data protection rights
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data. Log in and edit your profile directly, or contact us for anything else, including account deletion.
Data retention & security
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above and take reasonable steps to protect it. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure.
This policy is provided for general information and does not constitute legal advice.
